At St. Phillips Baptist Church, we are passionate about equipping and empowering individuals to fulfill the call of God on their lives to be missionaries both locally and globally. Our Missionary Training Program is designed to provide practical tools, biblical training, and hands-on experience to prepare individuals for effective cross-cultural ministry and mission work.
Our Mission. To extend the love and compassion of Christ to people of all nations, cultures, and backgrounds. We believe that every person is precious in the eyes of God, and it is our privilege and responsibility to share the hope of salvation with everyone, regardless of geographical location or socioeconomic status. Our ultimate goal is to see lives transformed, communities revitalized, and nations reached for Christ.
What We Do. Through strategic partnerships with missionaries, ministries, and organizations around the world, we engage in a variety of mission activities aimed at meeting both the spiritual and physical needs of people. From evangelistic outreaches and church planting efforts to humanitarian aid projects and community development initiatives, we seek to be a tangible expression of God's love and compassion to those who are hurting and in need.
Short-Term Missions. We offer opportunities for individuals and teams to participate in short-term mission trips to various parts of the world. These trips provide valuable opportunities for hands-on ministry, cultural exchange, and personal growth as participants step out in faith to share the love of Christ with others. Whether it's teaching, evangelism, construction, or medical missions, there are opportunities for people of all ages and skill levels to get involved and make a difference.
Support & Partnerships. We believe in the power of partnership and collaboration in mission work. We support missionaries and ministries financially, prayerfully, and practically, coming alongside them as they fulfill their calling to reach the unreached and disciple believers. We also partner with local churches and organizations in the areas where we serve, recognizing the importance of working together to advance the kingdom of God.
Training Program Overview. The Missionary Training Program is a comprehensive and immersive experience designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and spiritual foundation needed to serve as effective missionaries. The program covers a wide range of topics including cross-cultural communication, intercultural understanding, evangelism and discipleship, missions strategy and planning, and practical skills for ministry in diverse contexts.
Curriculum. Our curriculum is rooted in the Word of God and informed by best practices in missiology and cross-cultural ministry. Participants will engage in intensive study of scripture, theological reflection, and practical application as they learn what it means to be a missionary and how to effectively share the gospel in different cultural settings. Guest speakers, missionaries, and experts in various fields will also be invited to share their insights and experiences, providing valuable perspectives and practical wisdom.
Practical Training. In addition to classroom instruction, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through mission trips, internships, and ministry practicums. These experiences will allow participants to apply what they have learned in real-world settings, develop their gifts and talents, and grow in their ability to minister effectively in diverse cultural contexts.
Mentorship and Support. Participants in the Missionary Training Program will receive mentorship and support from experienced missionaries and ministry leaders who will provide guidance, encouragement, and accountability throughout their training journey. Mentors will help participants discern their callings, navigate challenges, and grow in their personal and spiritual development as they prepare for the mission field.
Graduation and Commissioning. Upon completion of the Missionary Training Program, participants will be commissioned and sent out as missionaries from St. Phillips Baptist Church. This commissioning ceremony is a significant moment of affirmation and blessing as participants step into their calling to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of all nations.
